Subsidy for Daily Industry
DETAILS ANNOUNCED. NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. The .Minister of Employment (the Hon. S. G. Smith) announced to-day particulars of farm buildings and machinery which would bo eligible for subsidy under the Unemployment Board’s scheme for assisting in endeavours to improve dairy produce quality in conjunction with the creation of employment. Details are as follows:—Woolshcds, implement sheds, manure sheds, haysheds, calf houses, stables, honey houses, fruit cool stores, fruit packing sheds, poultry farm buildings, and tho concreting of yards and installation of water supply. The subsidy is S per cent, if the work is done by contract or engaged labour, otherwise 10 per cent, of the net invoice cost of materials. Equipment is eligible if new and of New Zealand manufacture. The rate of subsidy will be £2 for the first £lO, increasing by Is 4d in the £ up to £IOO, thereafter S per cent, up to £2OO and 5 per cent, in excess of £2OOI Applications will now bo accepted, those for buildings to bo forwarded to nearest officer of the Department of Agriculture and thoso in respect- of equipment alone to certifying officers.
