Wanganui Education Board

(Special to “Times.") WANGANUI, Last Night

The November meeting oi the Wanganui .Education -Board was held this afternoon., • Present were: Mr. E. E. Hemingway (chairman), Bov. King, Col. Whyte, Messrs. J. S. Tingey, P. Rlun 10, it. Dukeson, W. Benefield and A. S. Coleman.

No action could bo taken regarding the question of conveying the Cloverlea children to Palmerston North Central, as the City Council could not extend the bus service.

The following school terms and holidays wore lixed for 103(1:—Hirst term: Monday, February 3, to Friday, May 8. Second. Monday, May 25, tc Friday, August 21. -Third term: Monday, .September 7, to Thuisday, December 17. Opening date, 1007: Monday, February 1. The following teachers are leaving the board’s service: Mrs. J. Taylor, assistant, Palmerston North Central: Mrs. A. Macalister, assistant, Queen’s Park; Miss A. I). Sexton, assistant, Taihape D.H.; Miss M. M. Norrie, assistant, Manunui; Mr. A. Sadler, head teacher, Alton. Appointments: Mr. F. Orgias, sole teacher, Orangimea; Miss A. T. Fowlcs, assistant; Palmerston North Central; Miss C. Quinn, sole teacher, Deulair. The Department stated that Tangimoana was not on the list of urgent works and would lie considered later. The board decided to inform the Department that the case should be on .the list as it is urgent.

The committee at Waituna West have decided to hold the matter of the playground until later.
