Caught In The Ad

CIRCUS MYSTERY SOLVED Tins of powdered milk and condensed milk recently disappeared from a locked shed at Wirth’s Circus in Melbourne. Employees suspected that a petty thief was at work, and hid near the shed. They found who the chief was. . The employees watched Alice, who is aged 80, and who is tho circus' oldest elephant, lumber to tho shed door, unlook it with her trunk, and disappear inside. She reappeared with a tin of milk held in her trunk. Sho broke open the tin on a peg, and drank the contents. Alice then threw the empty tin over a fence, and sho was somewhat annoyed when she was not permitted to reenter the shed. Tho men found a pile of empty milk tins on the other side of tho fence —all burst open.
