The Mayor’s Invitation
(To the Editor.) Sir, —A letter appeared in Monday’s ‘ ‘ Times ’ ’ imputing unworthy. motives to the executive of a non-political institution in purposely delaying an invitation to his Worship the Mayor. Invitations to members, of whom nearly 100 responded, and that to his Worship, wero all posted by 7 pun- on Thursday. In thanking tho club, Mr. Mansford pointed out that his civic correspondence did not reach him till after 11.30 a.m. on Friday.—l am, etc., “FAIR PLAY.”
