Paton, was carried by the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association yesterday. <S> <S> <s> <§> Mr. J. E. Oliver, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Oliver, of Union street, Palmerston North, has left to take up an appointment with the Agricultural Department in Wellington. He was formerly at the Palmerston North Boys’ High School and at the Massey Agricultural College. <S> <s> <s> <?> For five years Mr. N. H. Macldc, of Palmerston North, has guided the destinies of the Automobile Association (Manawatu). At the annual meeting of that body last evening he was unanimously TO-elected president, members paying tribute to his ability and service at all times. . <s> <S> 3> * Owing to pressure of business, Mr. A. C. Morton, of Massey College, has found it necessary to resign from the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association. Appreciation of his work as a mcmbci was voiced by the committee yestcidav, and regret was expressed that ho had found it necessary to resign. <S> <«> <3> <3> Messrs. H. E. Townsend, i’. Jackson and A. Clark, representing the l-’ifty Thousand Club, were extended a welcome as new members of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association yesterday. The president (Mr. J. Bateholar) said he was sure their presence would bo helpful to tho association. Replying on behalf of the new members, Mr. Jackson said they were there for only one purpose—to help the town and district.
