GLADYS MONCRIEFF AND CELEBRITY STARS

“Gladys Moncrieff is to-day at the zenith of her artistic powers. Her glorious voico has to-day a richness and charm Avhick only comes to a singer with a Avealth of exjterience. Sho has, moreover, developed considerably in artistic perceptions and emotional force.” So said the Sydney Morning Herald, just before Miss Monerieif left for New Zealand a few months ago. New Zealand has more than endorsed that opinion, for both ‘on the air” and on tho concert platform her success has been little less than phenomenal. A feature of each appearance Miss Moncrieff has made has been her generosity in regard to the number of items she has given, the great audiences being loath to allow her to leave the platform. Or hardly less interest are the other members of the company, every one of whom is a star in his own right. Gil Deck, the famous English pianist; John Eobertson, probably the world’s greatest cornctist; Vincent Apscv. brilliant Adolinist; Wilson Ewart, Australia’s leading baritone; and Prank Perrin, the popular English comedian, are associated with Miss Moncrieff. Miss Dorothea Eyan is tho accompanist. The company will present one concert only in Palmerston North, on Saturday next, October 26. The box plans open to-morrow morning at CoT linson and Cunninghame’s.
