New Leg Before Rule
UNIVERSAL ADOPTION [FORESHADOWED. United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, October 21. Tho Daily Mail states that Maryiobone’s cable to Australia regarding the leg before rule foreshadows tho universal adoption of tho rule, despite opposition from English professionals. Obviously, Murylebonc was completely satisfied that Holmes will welcome the move and Bradman, who years ago was pressing for tho amendment of the leg before rule, was certain to strongly support Marylc/bonc’s request. The South Africans had already urged that the rule should bo permanent. New Zealand has also been invited to try the rule, but it only needs Australia’s affirmative to bring all the countries into line. The experiment will certainly be continued in England in 193 G.
Australia and New Zealand have both agreed to try out the new rule.
