Mr D. S. Robinson Farewelled
VALEDICTORY FUNCTION Members of the Palmerston North Chrysanthemum Club and Horticultural Society met in St. Andrew’s session rooms last evening for the purpose of fareweiling a popular member, in Mr. D. S. Robinson, who is leaving Palmerston North shortly to take up an appointment in Dunedin. Warm appreciation of Mr. and Mrs. Robinson’s keen'interest in tho Chrysanthemum Club, Horticultural Society and Garden 'and Flower Circle was- generally expressed.. It,was unanimously decided to make Mr. Robinson an honorary life member of the Chrysanthemum Club, and' to placo'ori record appreciation of his services. Mr. J. Adamson (who presided) on behalf of the Chrysanthemum Club, presented Mr. Robinson with a fountain pen as, a small token of esteem and goodwill.
. 'Mr. A. W. Just, chairman of the Horticultural Society, on behalf of the society, asked Mr. Robinson to accept a .vase. The recipient, . had always wofkpd for, tho benefit of the society, said Mr. Just, and had especially been of invaluable assistance 'during the chrysahth'emuu'i shows. Mr. Just also expressed ‘ appreciation of 1 the work done by-Mrs; Robinson.
Other, -members, . .who -voiced good wishes were Hr. C. J. Erenstrom, Mr. F. Melhuish and Mr. A. L. Miles.
Mr. Robinson, in replying; said that he would do 1 his best to arrange an exchange of chrysanthemum , plants between Dunedin, and Palmerston North, and that, his association of 10 years with the horticultural society had been a vppy happy. jQttO- s
