Feilding Methodist Church
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual meeting of the adherents of the Feilding Methodist Church was held on Monday night with Rev. J. H. Allen presiding over a fair attendance. A greeting was read from Mr W. H. Tong, one of the oldest members of the circuit.
The membership cards were distributed by Mr Allen, who also expressed thanks to all those who had assisted in the work of the church in any capacity during the year. As the diamond jubilee of the church takes place in June of next year, the meeting resolved that the building of an adequate Sunday school hail large enough for any function in connection with the church should be the objective of the celebrations. A strong committee was set up to deal with the preliminary, business.
The gift of the new hymn books in the choir and church was suitably acknowledged and an opportunity for anyone who desires to give further books is to bo made by a retiring offering. Society stewards were elected as
follow: Messrs C. J. Hart, E. A. Buxton, J. Tobeclc, G. J. McVicar, W. G. Kilford, W. Jones, G. Thompson and A. T. Thomson; auxiliaries: Messrs F. Flavail, M. and S. Beazer, T. S. Goldsmith, C. Wilkinson, N. "White, Catchpole, Spencer, Kilford and Lewis Carthew; sacramental stewards: Misses D. Pengelly, D. Dewo and L. Goldsmith; auxiliaries, Misses V. Eade and Ivy Cleland, Mrs Seaburgh; congregational representatives, Mesdames McVicar, Gray and G. Thompson, Messrs Shelton and C. Gray.
Proceedings closed with -prayer and the Benediction.
