Joan Tips Too! When Joan, our humorous artist, heard that Rene was preparing some fashion tips for Randwick, she suggested that as she had followed fashions closely she would like to prepare some, too. To the immediate left and on ensuing pages are featured her tips, which include: the girl who felt strongly about spots and came out in them; the girl who turned to the kitchen for her inspiration; the one who felt that flowers and she were made for each other; the one who was jewel conscious; the lady of the lizards; the one a who could not make up her mind and came out in a bit of everything; and the chamois girl who got wet and shrank.
At the top left hand corner is a plain linen suit made with four patch pockets, each with a lab fastening, and shoulder width collar with large revers. © Next, showing its back view, is a plain crepe cape suit with a novelty back and having slits in the front through which the arms pass. The figure sitting to the right of this is in a navy crepe cape suit with spotted blouse in navy and white with a drawstring neck. The hat has one of ihc new kettle edges. Silk sheers are a promise of Spring and We find, fourth from the left, a figured while sheer Worn over a navy taffeta frock showing short sleeves. 7 lie neck and sash lies arc of navy taffeta and the wide white cartwheel baku hat has a navy band and white flowers. The princess silhouette coat, slimly fitting at the waist and without belt, will no doubt be among the fashion leaders. The tall standing figure shows one of dubonnet colored sheer wool Worn over a silk frock of the same color which has neck and cuff treatment of starched natural lace and the matching bonnet is of sisol straw with Vandyked edge. The loose boxy suit in brown and yellow has a coat with a high neck which does up with three balls of the jumper material, a brown jumper and yellow belt. The hat is yellow Breton Sailor in which the three-ball trimming is repeated. At the top right is a heavy floral crepe de chine cut on the new line with full waisted coat over a matching frock, very full three-quarter sleeves. and much flared front and collar. The hat is of the mushroom Variety. The figure on the lower left shows the new twocolor combination of turquoise blue and oyster, and features the new forward fullness of the skirt. The small miner's hat has flowers in the front. Very new is taffeta as an outdoor mode and there is little doubt that a combination 1 of figured and plain taffeta as shown on the lower right, will be prevalent. This suit shows a plain black taffeta skirt with jacket of black and oyster grey cross bar check With tiny scarlet flowers. The coal has a flared basque, and Very full sleeves, an d a lingerie touch at the neck. The hat has a kettle edge and a coarse mesh Veil.
