From Our Own Correspondent. Local Miniature Rifie Club's Success. The final shoot for tho County cup was decided on the Sandon Club's range on Friday Evening last, Sandon heading the list by on© point above the Bulls Club, Ohakea being five points behind. Each club was ■. represented by its strongest team, and the result was in doubt until tho final shot was fired. Possibles were obtained by Keith Lumsden (Sandon) ■and N. Amoil (Bulls). Several other marksmen just failed to obtain a possible. Refreshments were provided at the conclusion of the ilia tell. The president of the Atanawatu .Miniature Rifle Association, Mr.A. K. Drew, presented tiie cup. Following are the detailed results:—.

Although not largely attended, the annual dance of the Sandon Ladies’ Basketball Club was a very pleasant function. The committee responsible for the arrangements is to bo congratulated and it is regretted that its efforts did not receive the reward they deserved. During the evening Air E. J.. Bo water presented the trophy donated by Airs W. J. Rowan for the most improved player to Airs Bruce Young, at the same Rime congratulating the club on its splendid performance during the season.
