Mountain Defences the Real Test

Received Thursday, 11 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 16. The Daily Telegraph’s Addis Ababa correspondent says the Emperor is denying that Nasibu is starting ail offensive in Ogffiden. He declares it would be contrary to all his plans which are purely defensive, leaving the initiative to Italy. He adds that Abyssinia is not defeated on any front. The occupation of Adowa and Aksurn lacks military significance and no decisive battles would be fought until the invaders approached the real defensive positions-in the mountains which will test the strongest army of the world.
