It is understood that there is now iittle likelihood or the conference in London between Australia, New Zealand and Denmark on the distribution of the butter market being held. The Dominions were never enthusiastic about Denmark’s proposal, but the rise in price practically eliminates the prospect of conferring with the object of allocating Denmark a specific of the share of the market which has again become prosperous. Germany is reported to be more anxious to import butter since the recent shortage, but notified Australia House to-day that during - the coming months the quota will remain unchanged. In any case Australian merchants arc unlikely to seek the German market owing to the currency restrictions while the present satisfactory price in England holds.
