TUESDAY’S SALE
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report upon tfho weekly stock sale at the Levin yards yesterday as follows: — “Large yardings in all classes were offered, sheep and cattle remaining firm on last week’s prices while pigs ,showed a slight easing.” Prices realised were:— Pigs; sows to farrow, 25s to 33s 6d; weaners, 13s 6d to 15s 6d; light stores, 15s 6d to I7s; medium-heavy do., 17s to 225; light porkers, 26s to 30s: medium do, 30s to 355; heavy do, 35s to 41s; baconers, £2 10s to £2 15s. Sheep: shorn fat ewes, 12s Id to 15s 6d; hoggets, 16s to 17s 6d; ewes and lambs, ,13s 2d to 13s 6d. Cattle: fat cows, £2 10s to £2 15s; heavy d 0.," £2 15s to £4 15s; extra heavy- do., £4 15s to £5 12s 6d to £6 19s; runners, £2 12s 6d to £2 17s; vealers, 25s to 355; P.A. steers, £5 3s; light bulls, £2 to £2 10s; heavier do, £2 10s to £4 15s; store cows, 15s to 32s 6d. Dairy- stock: Cows in milk, £1 15s to £2 7s 6d; springing heifers (good quality), £5 to £5 2s 6d. LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. Tho N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency- Co., Ltd., (inc. in England), report at Levin yards y-esterday theyoffered medium entries of sheep and cattle and a heavy yarding of pigs to a good attendance of buy-ers. A good clearance was made at the following prices: Sheep: Fat woolly ewes, 235; light and unfinished shorn ewes, 14s; forward condition woolly- hoggets, 18s to 19s 3d. Cattle: Fat cows, ex-dairy-, £4 to £G ss; light fat heifers, £5 12s 6d to £6 12s 6d; vealers, £2 10s to £3 15s; store cows, £2 to £2 16s; bulls, £3 to £4; good quality- yearling Jersey heifers, £2 15s to £3 10s. Dairy- stock: Dairy cows in milk, £2 to £5; springing heifers, £3 to £4 17s 6d. Pigs: Heavy porkers, £2 to £2 Cs; medium do, 35s to 3Ss; light do, SO.s to 335; good stores, 24s to 30s; medium do, 20s to 235; slips, ISs to £1; weauers, 14s to 17s.
