Fred Perry Sails for Australia
TENNIS ONLY A HOBBY NOW Deceived Wednesday, 9.5 p.m. HOLLYWOOD (Calif.), Oct. 13. . “From now on tennis will be just a hobby with, me,” said Fred Perry on the eve of his departure to Australia on the steamer Lurline on Wednesday. “I am going into business and you really can’t make lawn tennis your business. Y r ou know of course a man must have a hobby, so mine will be tennis.” Perry’s work will take him from Australia for a goodly part o'f his time into England, Canada and the United States. He no longer entertains professional ideas. “That was finished last April,” ho said, “but I think I cau profit better by working up in.some business., lam looking into the future in my new work.” He hopes to bo in the British Davis Cup team next year when back in England. His wife, Helen Vinson, is remaining hero to complete her work ’in the studio, and then she w'ill go to England for work this winter, meeting Perry there.
