No Change in Niagara Hold-up
STRONG POLICE GUARD FOR MARIPOSA.
United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 0.55 p.m. SYDNEY,. Oct. 16. There wore no developments to-day in tho Niagara disputo. Thu Seamen’s Union officials stated that thero was at present no intention of reopening negotiations with tho company, but it was possible a full meeting of seamen’s organisations would bo held at the end of the week. Tho Niagara was moved from her ordinary berth to-day to another wharf where her cargo for Vancouver is being discharged. A strong police guard watched over the Mariposa this morning prior to sailing and strict discrimination was exercised in admitting persons to the wharf.

Received Thursday, 2 a.m. SYDNEY, Oet. .16.
AU the cooks and stewards arc still aboard the Niagara, the owners of which arc still sanguine the liner wili be able to sail within a couple of days. A serious view of the hold-up is taken by the Federal Ministry, which is now moving in the matter, and tne Federal Attorney-General (.Mr. Menzics) arrives in Sydney to-night to discuss the position with the Union Company.
