CROSSBRED TOPS FIRM United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright, LONDON, .Sept. 30. Offerings at tho London wool sales were 0932 bales, including 3778 bales Now Zealand. About 5470 bales of Australian aud New Zealand wools were sold. Active Homo aDd Continental competition prevailed, and full rates were maintained. New Zealand, greasy merinos, “ Rand Company” over “T,” made 22d per lb highest and 21}d average. Greasy half bred, "Mont Alto,” sold at 144 d highest and 13i{d average. Greasy crossbred, “Taurimu,” sold at Old highest and 9 l-8d average. Tho Bradford tops market' for merinos is barely steady; cut crossbreds are firm at full rates.
Melbourne Price Above Last Year
MELBOURNE, Oct. 1
The new season’s wool sales have opened in this centro under keen competition. Prices for good wools are firm, being 15 to 25 per cent, higher than those ruling at the opening sales in Melbourne last season.
The highest price of the day was 19Jd per lb for merino wool
