Portions of Bodies Wrapped in Newspapers
GRUESOME DISCOVERY IN ENGLAND BELIEVED TO BE WORK OF MADMAN United Press Association.—By, Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 9.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 1. The discovery on Sunday night of portions of bodies, including the heads of a man and woman wrapped in newspapers in a deep ravine at Gardenholm, Dumfrieshire, was followed yesterday by the finding of other gruesome parcels apparently scattered in the ravine from a motor car. It is believed to be a case of doublo murder. A search, which ended at dusk resulted in tho discovery of thirty newspaper parcels containing portions of bodies.
A doctor’s report on the parts recovered indicate that they are the remains *of a man between 55 and GO years of age and of a woman of about 30. They are so mutilated that identification is almost impossible. The man’s fingers had been on at the kunckles and the ears of both victims had been severed. The skin of the woman’s torso and of the man s face had been removed with a sharp instrument resembling a scalpel. ® man’s remains were more decomposed than those of the woman. The absence of clues recalls the Brighton trunk crime Number One. Even the manner of death is undiscoverable. . . , Doctors express the opinion that the mutilations were the work of a mhdman.
