WONDERFUL CARNIVAL EFFORT.
An illuminating demonstration ot ■what co-operative effort Trill produce is to be found in the balance-sheet of the Fcilding Hockey Association's carnival -which reveals gross receipts amounting to £5Ol 19s 9d, expenses £Ol 3s, leaving the substantial credit balance of £440 16s 9d, This credit is about double the amount anticipated by tho promoters -who are naturally very gratified with tho -wonderful financial result achieved. It is' interesting to Tccord that no fewer than 04-30 art union tickets were sold and this effort alone produced £SO 7s Od. The queen crowning ceremony which was such a distinct success, was not a profit-making venture, nevertheless a small credit of £4 was realised. Tho association desires to acknowledge assistance received upon all sides and particularly thanks the following for donations towards the carnival effort: Messrs. J. S. l’ingey, H. Dooly, B. Bcvan, W. N. Jones, A. J. Geary, F. Groombridge, T. Collins, A. J. Kellow, C F. Johnson, A. H. Atkinson, C. A. J. Lovett, A. Williamson, T. Kelly, G. Bartholomew, J. G. Cobbe, C. V. Newton-Broad, W.
