WONDERFUL CARNIVAL EFFORT.

An illuminating demonstration ot ■what co-operative effort Trill produce is to be found in the balance-sheet of the Fcilding Hockey Association's carnival -which reveals gross receipts amounting to £5Ol 19s 9d, expenses £Ol 3s, leaving the substantial credit balance of £440 16s 9d, This credit is about double the amount anticipated by tho promoters -who are naturally very gratified with tho -wonderful financial result achieved. It is' interesting to Tccord that no fewer than 04-30 art union tickets were sold and this effort alone produced £SO 7s Od. The queen crowning ceremony which was such a distinct success, was not a profit-making venture, nevertheless a small credit of £4 was realised.
