A retired French army doctor has committed suicide through grief at tho death of his war-time charger. The Scottish Youth Hostel Association is making so much headway that fifty hostels should bo open by the end of the year. When pulling down the old Monastery Church at Wesel, in the Rhineland, workmen discovered the gravestone of a Spanish' nobleman, who, a.commander of the Spanish Infantr; conquered the town of Wesel in 16 1 when it was in the hands of D’’ troops. He died there in 1621.
