A Treat tor Mother

Every busy housewife should give herself a treat now and again. Mothers often arrange little treats for their children, and they know how much they are enjoyed, even if the ..children forget to say ‘ 1 Thank you,” but, unfortunately, there is often no ono to plan a treat for mother. When the winter is over and spring cleaning finished, but holidays still some weeks distant, it is a good plan to give yourself a treat. What form it takes depends on individual taste. Some women may long for. a day in the country—a long ramble through woods and fields by themselves, or ii motor trip with friends; others- may prefer to spend some hours by the sea. Several women regard going to. a‘ play a treat, while if others can persuade their husbands to take.them out to dinner and a show, then that pleases them. One overtired woman might enjoy a day in bed more than anything, whilo a country woman would probably choose a day’s shopping in town. Whatever is your ideal of a day’s holiday and enjoyment, strive to give it yourself. With a little contriving it may be managed. Meals can be planned so that no cooking is required that day. The children may, perhaps, be able to stay at school, or go to a relative’s or friends house. A day off duty does a hard-worked woman a tremendous amount of good, and it is worth striving for, even by the most unselfish, for it benefits her family too.
