Happier naval marriages is the aim of the Admiralty which is establishing a welfare and marriago allowance section at Portsmouth, Dovonport aud Chatham under feminine supervision. Meet orders instruct commanders to immediately institute any essential inquiries into seamen’s families, enabling the section to deal with domestic troubles, such as a wife’s difficulty with ront when her husband is abroad. Tho system stablises the work thus far done unofficially.
