“EVERYBODY WILL BE CHANGING INTO SUMMER DRESSES, AS THE WEATHER IS GETTING HOT NOW” Burnside, Halcombe. Dear Hub,—The fruit trees are looking glorious now with all the blossoms. The primroses and violets are in full bloom now. Haven’t the violets a beautiful smell? Dusky Bell is feeding the lambs while I write this letter. I am sending in the Skilltest which is a very tricky puzzle. Everybody will bo changing into summer dresses, as the weather is getting hot now. With love from Ragged Robin. I look forward to the golden days of summer, don’t you? I.enjoyed your letter.

A WALK Mangatiti. Dear Hub, —On Sunday, Dad, Granny, Mum, Jim and I took our lunch and went for a walk to tho back of the farm. We went up a hill down into a creek, then up a big hill again. We went over to a big creek and boiled the billy and had our lunch. Then we went on to the neighbours’ to look at a creep: it is a big piece of land slipping away very slowly. Dad says it slips away only a very little in a year. There I are about 50 acres and it looks as if there has been a big shake there. I am knitting a jumper for a little boy. It is a blue one. Dad made us a swing. Doris, Jim and I havo such fun on it. No, Te Rauparaha, I don’t belong to your tribe. I belong to a tribe on tho East Coast. Love from Hino O Te Ra.

It is such fun having lunch in the open air, isn’t it, Hine O To Ra? The food seems to taste ever so much nicer. I was very’ interested to hear of the creep. The little boy should be pleased to receive a jumper, and it is splendid that you can knit. Swinging is great fun; it is almost like flying, isn’t it?
