Wool Sales
Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., aro in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents dated September 27: "Sales continue with a good tone;
competition keen. Compared with last London sale’s closing rates, Merino of best, descriptions advanced 5 per cent.; crossbred greasy, fine and coarse, market firm.”
Pigs and Poultry The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports the usual capacity yarding at its weekly pig fair held at tho mart on Saturday. Tho pigs offered wero in good condition and bidding was keen, prices showing a rising tendency. Realisations wero as follow: — . Wcancrs, 10a to ISs; slips, 13s 6d to 19s; stores, 14s to 22s 6d; porkers,. 20s to 34s Gd; sow with litter, Sss; light baconers, 425. There was also a good yarding of poultry, prices for which were as follow: —Whito hens, 5s to 6s 6d; black hens, 4s 8d to 5s Cd; cockerels, 3s 8d t,o 4s 6d (all prices per pair); turkey hens, 4s 6d; turkey gobblers, Ss 6d. There was also a good yarding on Thursday last at tho weekly fat pig fair and tho realisations were a.s follow:—Light porkers, 34s to 375; heavy porkers, 37s 6d to 40s; light baconers, 4os to 48s.
