AGREEMENT REACHED FOR SEALING FINAL EIGHT MILES A special meeting of tho Manawatu County Council was held on Thursday afternoon to moot representatives of, tho Main Highways Board t.o discuss the question of reaching finality in connection with tho scaling of tho final eight miles of the Sanson-Ilima-tangi highway. Tho Highways Board was represented by Messrs M. H. Wynyard, W. Morrison and G. J. Albertson (engineer for tho board). Messrs H. H. Sharp (district engineer) and A. It. Atehcson (resident engineer of the Public Works Department, Wellington) were also present. , Although tho'proceedings were taken in committee, the county • chairman, Mr. W. E. Barber, intimated . that a satisfactory basis of agreement had been arrived at, and he stated that there was every prospect of the work being proceeded with at an early date.
