' From Our Own Correspondent. There was a good attendance of members at tho annual meeting of the Aokautere Tennis Club, Air Win. Anderson presiding. The president's report showed tho club to have hud a very successful season, some interesting inter-cluli matches having been played. Tho balance sheet showed a very satisfactory credit balance and tho club is to be congratulated on its sound financial position. It is tho intention of the club to proceed with tho construction of tho new concrete court as soon as finances permit. Tho election of officers for thq ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Air Wm. Anderson; vice-presidents, Messrs R. R. Scott, F. Judd, A. Ferguson, L. Craven, W. R, Hopcroft, AI. Kristensen and J. P. Robertson; hon. secretary and treasurer, Aiiss AI. Anderson; club captain, Air J. Woods; hon. auditor, Air F. Gough. Arrangements were completed for the opening day. to be held ou Saturday 28th September, when it At hoped all last year’s members and all new members will be present. Matters concerning the new court were discussed, it being decided to hold a "working bee’ on Wednesday next ' when ic is hoped that the clay surfacing will be completed After some discussion it was agreed to hold a euchre and dance early next month, proceeds to bo devoted to the fund for the new court. The subscrip-
tion for tho ensuing year is to remain the same as for last year. The president expressed the club's thanks to those members who had kindly donated trophies for the tennis and euchre parties t. ing tho season, to Air W. R. Hopcroft for the use of his court for inter-clrb i matches, and to all who had assisted in [any way, during the past year.
