Handicaps Declared

Nearly eighty riders from Welling-

ton 'and other centres have entered for the Palmerston North to Petone cycle road race, which is to bo held in conjunction with the 100 miles New Zealand road cycling championship. The handicaps for the contest, which is to bo held oh Saturday, have been declared by Mr M. Matson, handicapper for the Wellington Amateur Cycling Centre. Among those who have entered arc ' a number of Christchurch riders, "Sve of whom—T. Grose, J. L. Richards, J. Taylor, M. Gamble and R. Blakeway—are on the scratch mark with O. Disley (Wellington), who secured fastest time last year, and J. Wade (Wanganui). C. Ericsson (Wellington) has the distinction of being tho only competitor who rode in tho original raco in 1926. He is on the SOmin. mark. Tho oldest competitors aro B. Plutey (Otago), aged 58, and H. M. Hammond (Levin), aged 64, who have the limit start of 60min. Winners of 'previous races, W. Glennie (Blenheim), 1933, and J. Hegglum (Blenheim), 1934, are on the lOmin and 20min marks .respectively. The handicaps are as follow:
