: From Our Own Correspondent. Pig Recording Club. A meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua I'ig Recording and Development Club was held at til© Tc Arakura hall on Friday night. -Mr. A. J. Baxter was chairman and introduced Mr. VV. Crouelier, president of the club. Mr. Croucher outlined the scheme ol‘ the recording club. Mr. C. B. McMeekan, ol' Massey College, gave a.u- interesting address on the manunagement and feeding o£ pigs. Tile lecture was illustrated with lantern slides showing weights of litters, from .throe to eight weeks old. An endeavour was being made to find what was the actual value of the by-products of dairy farming. In one instance slides were shown where one man had made 2d on his butterfat and another only 3d. Out of 12 factory suppliers included in those present, 10 joined up with the recording club, Mr. B. Larsen proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Messrs Croucher and McMeekan, this being carried by acclamation. Church services, instead of being held in fhe afternoon, are to be held at the school iii the evening, .Baptist and Methodist on alternate Sundays. Tile friends of -Mr. W. Candy, sent'., will regret to hear that he has been obliged t.o enter hospital lor medical treatment. ~ . . Mr. J. Wasley, who for a considerable period was in the employ of Mr. K. V. Bennett, has now left the district. Mr. Wasley has taken, a farm at Makino, where his old friends will wish him the best of luck.
