From Our Own Correspondent. The hall was filled to capacity on Friday evening tho occasion being the entertainment arranged by tho Women's Institute in aid of tlie AVillard Home. Tho standard of the' concert was high and twice - the value of the modest charge. The Ford entertainers contributed a largo section of the programme and their items were warmly applauded. At the conclusion of the concert tho scats were pushed back and a generous supper was served by tho AV.I. members after which dancing commenced and continued, uni iI shortly before midnight. As a result the AVillard Homo will benefit: to tho extent of about 327. The programme was as follows: Items by Reid’s band; humovr. Air Harold Burke, "The Body in the Bag” and "Covered Wagon”; elocution, - a.m.” and "Tho Egg,” Miss I'reda AVliittaker; humour, Mr Renwick; onc-act play, "Patchwork,” by the Rongotea AV.L, tho cast being Mesdames _A. N. Alorcom, R. Scott, T. Collins, Misses L. Davis and J. Bower; humour, Mr Renwick; steel guitar solos, Air Alan feunuborn; vocal solos, "Kentucky Babe, "When Your Hair Has Turned to buyer,” Miss Penketh; thought reading, Oswald and AVillie; Air J. Flower and. his son Archie, ventriloquism; humour, Mr Voss; "Tile AA T ife Who Waited Up,” Aliss F. Whittaker. A cake was won by Airs P. Lofts.
