Tlio Now Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing. Co., Ltd., report on tbo Foilding sale. Our offerings in both, sheep and cattlo were greatly in excess of advertised numbers. In fat sheep the quality , was slightly hotter than lato offerings, and prices improved by Is to Is 6d per head. The yarding of sheep comprised mostly hoggets with a few odd lots of ewes with lambs. The quality of the hoggets was for tlio most part medium, but values wero well maintained. A yarding of somo 800 run cattlo mostly of good quality met with fair demand. Prices wore, however, below those ruling at other centres. A heavy offering of beef camo forward. Prime lots showed a further appreciation in values, plain and unfinished sorts being at par with lato sales. In the dairy section cows and heifers at drop were in activo demand at lato rates. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale held on Friday. An average entry of fat sheep came forward with competition not quite so keen, although prices remained practically unchanged. There was a small entry of store sheep, comprising about six pens of hoggets and some odds and ends. Good hoggets met. strong competition. A good yarding of run cattlo was penned and competition for quality lines was very sound, but vendors wero inclined to await' higher prices when the flush of feed sets i,n, and several of the larger, lines were passed in at auction. Beef cattle, in which few quality lines wero included, sold steadily at recent-rates. Dairy cattle met sound sale for the best quality heifers, tho top lots shewing quite an improvement. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report just medium yardiugs of sheep of all classes with heavy yardiugs of cattlo iu all departments at Friday’s sale. Tho demand for sheep and cattlo of all classes was sound throughout, dairy cattle showing quality and closo to profit selling exceptionally well. Sta-tion-bred cattlo sold well with values hardly up to rates ruling tkreo weeks ago, this no doubt being duo to the fact that tho growth of grass has had a setback over this period. Fat cattle, of which an averago yarding was submitted, were ou tho whole lacking in quality, consequently values were hardly ou a par with recent sales. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report a smaller yarding of both fat and store sheep at Feilding on Friday, A largo entry of run cattle camo forward, but prices were slightly easier than last week. Good well-bred young cattle met with a keen demand at an increased rate. Run steers were a shade easier than at previous sales. Good run fat cattle sold at about late rates, but a good entry of fat dairy cattlo did not meet last -week's high levels. There -was a heavy yarding of dairy cattle, lower conditioned stock being more or less neglected, but good conditioned sorts eloso to calving sold freely. Springing cow's and heifers, as well as boner cattle, sold freely. Fat sheep sold on a par with late rates, the stores showing a slight decrease, the quality offered being lower than at recent sales.
