LEADING ACTOR’S TRAGIC END

United Press Association.—By Klee trie Telegraph.—Copyright Received Monday, 2 a.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. Devotion to Ms small dog cost the life of Robert Capron, leading man in “So This is Hollywood,” now at the Apollo Theatre, Melbourne. To-day Mr. Capron was visiting Warrandyte with other members of the company on the upper reaches of the Yarra 16 miles from Melbourne, when his dog fell into the river which was running fast near where it flows through an old mining tunnel a quarter of a mile long. Both were swept through the tunnel and when they emerged Mr. Capron was just reaching the dog but sank exhausted close to the bank. The body has not been recovered. Mr. Capron came from America as leading man in the successful Merry Malones Company some mouths ago.
