Sir Charles liingsford Smith sailed aboard tho Britannic for England lo attempt the “last long Right I hope to do.” His plane was shipper 1 on a cargo vessel. He plans to fly from London to Melbourne via Athens, Baghdad and Singapore. He stated that lie is organising a company to fly this route commercially.
Lieutenant Felix Waitkus, of Kohler, Wisconsin, took off from the Floyd Bennett air Held at 5.45 a.m. on a solo non-stop flight to Kaunas, Lithuania, via Newfoundland, Ireland, England, Denmark and the Baltic Sea. He intended to fly in the sub-stratosphere and expected the flight would take 28 to 30 hours.
