MORAL SUPPORT OF CHURCH WANTED DRAMATIC INCIDENT INDUNEDIN Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. Just as the congregation had risen to its feet and Rev. D. C. Herron w r as about to pronounce the Benediction at the annual meeting of Knox Presbyterian Church to-night there was a dramatic development. “In view of the strained position of world affairs,’’ said Air. Angus Ross, M.A., holder of tho Ross fellowship at Knox- College for historical research, “I think it would be well if we passed such a motion as this; “That in the event of an outbreak of a war in which New Zealand is involved this meeting commends to the moral support of the congregation those members who declare themselves to be conscientious objectors on religious grounds.’ ’’ Air. Herron wus obviously taken by surprise and said: “I am quite sure we will all agree to this.’’ Air. N. Dixon, a student at Knox College, seconded the motion whieffi was carried with ‘only two dissentient voices.
