Honey is the best cure for wounds, according to a leading Vienna physician who claims to have used it successfully in some thousands of cases without one failure. It is also’ said to be effective with burns and carbuncles. Since all the land in Russia is nationalised, it might be thought that farmers would bo rent free. This is not so, however. Tho State takes a toll of 30 per cent, of all produce raised, which is equivalent to a substantial rental.
An endeavour to persuade the Government to consider making Somes Island in Wellington harbour available to tho public a£ a scenic and picnic resort is to be made next week by a deputation representing local body, yachting, rowing and horticultural interests to Cabinet Ministers.
