Manawatu Scottish Society

Tho quoen carnival which is at present being held in Palmerston North has resulted in the supporters of the various queens making big efforts to get to the top of tho poll. The Y.W.O.A. queen (Miss Joan Thompson) is being boosted up by the Manawatu Scottish Society. The society is having special “Back to Childhood” inglosides, and, judging by other similar functions, it will bo one of tho most popular functions of its kind. A special committee of tho Pipe Band has been formed to conduct the evening and preparations aro well in hand. There will bo a number of very new novelties and prizes are to bo given for the best boy, the best girl, and tho best twins. Tho Cosmopolitan hall is to be decorated for tho event and Hammond’s orchestra will supply its usual highclass music.
