It has not suffered at'all in conversion to the screen, ft concerns.,*! .tradition that there is a dragon in the pool which drugs unsuspecting swimmers to their death by drowning. The’superstition is cleverly used to work out an absorbing story of crime and its detection. Warren William, who recently made an impression in “Dr. Monica,” plays the part of the famous -sleuth Philo Vance, and Eugene 'l’alletlo is again Sergeant Heath. The part of district attorney is taken by Robert MoWadc, remembered for his lino acting in “The Kennel Murder Case.” The eight suspects at the librae of a wealthy scientist, any one of whom might have committed 1 lie crimes which take place in this picture, arc -Margaret Lindsay, Lyle Talbot, Helen Lowell, Dorothy Tree, Robert Barrett, George E. Stone, William Davidson and Arthur Aylcsworth. Margaret Lindsay is particularly charming and effective.
