MEETING OF MANAWATU BRANCH At a mooting of the Manawatu branch of tho National Council of AVomcn, held yesterday iu the Y.W.C.A. clubrooms yesterday, Miss C. McKenny (Pahiatua) presided; also present being Mesdamcs Hebbcrd (Utiku), McCorkindalo (Feildiug), H. Paterson (Pahiatua), 0. E. Niedercr (P.N.), H. L. Richards (P.N.), J. A. Harris (Marton), J. F. Clausen (Foxton line), and Misses M. Mooro and M. Grant (Palmerston North). There wero apologies from Miss Simpson. (Bonny Glen), Mcsdames Howie (Taihapc) and Colquhoun (Feifding).
A motion of sympathy with Mrs D. Simpson, "Heaton Park,” Mafton, in her recent bereavement, was carried in the usual way, tho secretary being authorised to convey the sympathy of the branch by letter. Miss M. Moore agreed to carry out the secretarial duties for the time being and was accorded a vote of thanks. The business of tho meeting was particularly the consideration of remits to tho annual conference to bo held in Dunedin tho first week in September, Miss McKaunoy (tho delegate) being given an. indication of the feeling of llio meeting concerning various matters.
