Buses Grow in Popularity
At the City Council meeting last evening Cr. W. B. Cameron, who is chairman of the transit committee, commented on a suggestion in the leading article appearing in the "Times” on Saturday last wherein reference is made to the municipal bus service. Cr. Cameron contended that If criticism of the service was needed it -should have come in the form of constructive suggestions, but he was of opinion that the increased patronage being shown the "red fleet” Was a sufficient answer to the criticism that had been levelled. Cr. ’• Cameron quoted figures which showed that from July 1, 1933, to June 30, 1934, the buses had. travelled 138,331 miles had carried 419,526 passengers, and had earned £4S3O 1/9. For the year ended June 30 last, those figures had grown to 115,760 miles, 461,117 passengers and £5431 2/2 revenue
