Pigs and Poultry
Tho Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, reports a large yarding of pigs at their weekly pig fair on Saturday. Dcspito the inclement weather there tvas again a large bench of buyers and alt classes were keenly sought after. Realisations were as follow: — Small weauers, 13s to lGs; best wcaners, to -Os; slips, ISs to 225; stores,
21s Gd, 2-Is to 2Ss; light porkers, 27s Gd to 31s. There was also a large yarding of poultry, prices being a good deal better than last week’s. Realisations were as follow:—■ v Whito hens, from os to Gs; black hens, to 7s -Id; cockerels, 5s to Ss Gd; ducks, 5s Id to 7s; pullets, Gs to 9s Gd. All prices being per pair. Tho Dominion Auctioneering Company also reports having conducted a most successful fat pig sale on Thursday last with an entry of just under
100 pigs. Tho class of pigs consisted of light porkers, heavy porkers and baconcrs. Excellent prices were realised and all lines were cleared at the following realisations:—Light porkers, front 30s to 375; heavy porkers, to 425; baconcrs, 57s to 595.
