Received Sunday, 7 p.ra. ADELAIDE, Aug. IS. South Australia scooped the pool in both the amateur and professional golf events marking the opening of the national meeting yesterday. H. Toogood, with an aggregate of 147 for lid holes, won the professional at Kooyonga by one stroke. Ross Sawyers and I’. M. Cudmore, South Australians, tied with a net 71, winning the amateur at Seaton. The New South Wales representatives, i'errier and W. Bolgcr, failed badly, chiefly on the greens.
