Coming-of-age is Celebrated With Party
To celebrate tho coming-of-agc of their daughter Alarjorie, a delightful party- was given last week by- Air. and Mrs. W. J. Muir at their residence, “Blue Mountains,” Palmerston North.
Air. and Airs. Muir received their guests, the latter wearing cau-de-nil satin. Aliss Alarjorie Muir looked charming in floral georgette in tones ot black, green and grey. The drawing room was gay with bowls of cherry blossom, and in the dining room where savouries and birthday- cake were served, a beautiful bowl of freesias centred the table. Musical honours and cheers were first accorded the host and hostess, Air. Speight presiding at tho piano.
Air. J. J. Stevenson, who was toastmaster, called upon the guest of honour to cut the cake. On behalf of the guests, Air. Stevenson wished Aliss Minimally y-ears of joy and every success in the fulturc. Air. J. P. McDavitt, in proposing the toast of Air. and Airs. Muir, expressed pleasure at attending such a jolly function and thanked them for tho opportunity of honouring their daughter’s coming-of-age. After the toast had been enthusiastically- honoured, Aliss Muir expressed her thanks and asked her father to reply. Air. Aluir, in responding, voiced his thanks for the very kind expressions that had been made, and said that he felt sure his daughter would always remember that evening as'one of tho most memorable in her life. Tho time was spent in dancing and games. Aliss Betty Aluir delighted the guests with a tap dance. Tho guests included Air. and Airs. J. J. Stevenson, Air. and Airs. J. P. McDavitt, Air. aud Airs. J. H. Hay, Alisses Audrey Miller, M. Puklowski, Lois Wade, E. 0 ’Donnell , Al. Nicholson, A. Stonchurst, Messrs P. Turner, P. Delaney, E. Trass, L. Ryan, E. Alouch, S. Orr, R, Alclntyre and J. Donovan.
