Burglares Caught Red-handed

BROADWAY PREMISES BROKEN INTO Two men who broke into tho tobacconist shop of Mr C. H. Martin, Broadway, about 9 p.m. yesterday, were caught red-handed. While at his pharmacy adjoining, Mr J. K. Patou was disturbed by the sound of the back door of Mr Martin's shop being forced open. Seeing no lights appear inside the premises, he advised the police, and Constables Chapman and Evans arrived in time to catch the intruders as they were leaving. They were taken into custody with cigarettes and tobacco in their pockets. An iron case-opener was used to force the door, this being left by the pair on a bench inside the back door.
