DEAR COGS.

Koputaroa

The Hub has been trying to keep her heed this week (what a tragedy if she lost it!) and steer a way through a pile of gladness. The pile was all your “glad” letters and contributions, lying merrily on their backs on my desk, singing out about their gladness and kicking their feet in the air. They were so glad, you see, that they simply couldn’t keep their gladness to themselves (nobody ever can); they wanted the world and The Hub to know all about it. Here they axe to-day, sunning their gladness in our Page, and all joining in to say: “We dare the world to be gloomy or sad, when Cogs are making it merry and glad! ’ ’ Shadows dare not face the sun; they get frightened and run away. So we hope that any shadows of gloom that people who read our Gladness Pago may have, may be chased away in the face of our gladness! I must say “Thank You” to all Cogs who have sent in contributions, and to our Page Personalities who have tried to beat you at being glad (we’ll declare it a tie). I must make mention of Aunty Bob’s account of Uncle Bob’s dream (although I think Uncle Bob had a good deal to do with writing it). It was very obliging of him to dream in such an appropriate fashion. The other Page Personalities have also written contributions you will enjoy. You have all been splendid (now, don’t throw out your chests too far) and I am glad.

Many usual letters have had to he held over,, hut they will appear as soon as possible. Remember to watch the Cogs’ Corner on Tuesday. It makes me glad also this week to acknowledge six peggy squares from Twinkletoes (Palmerston North), and a peggy square and sweet little singlet from Song Bird and Rose of Tralee came three squares, a pair of gaiters and and it was so daintily done. Topping also left some peggy squares, while from Song Bird and Rose of Tralee came three square, a pair of gaiters and a waist-coat. These contributions will all bring gladness to people. Thank you, Cogs. Mr. Printerman is so worried. Do you know why? He says the letters “G-L-A-D” on his machine have all got worn out! Your friend, THE HUB.
