City Electors Interested in Enrolment
55 CARDS RETURNED ON MONDAY Inquiry at tho electoral office shows that new applications for enrolment continue to come in at a fast rate, an! Monday’s total was a record to date--55 cards having been received. The total last month was 558, and tho rate of enrolment tends to quicken.
Under tho provisions of the Electoral Act a large number of persons will have to bo deleted from the roll because notices sent to them have been returned by the Post Office marked, “Gone; no address.” It is evident that many people have not advised tho Post Office of changes of address, and there is therefore a danger that their names may be included in this list.
Any electors who find themselves in this position when the main roll closes will still have an opportunity of being included in the supplementary roll upon making the usual application. The electoral ofEco would bo greatly helped if all electors having unanswered electoral inquiries would attend to them at once before the roll closes.
