A woman wlio admitted that she stole small quantities of foodstuffs from a city store every Friday night for three months appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland. She was Freda Griffiths,, aged 25, married. "Accused has had leniency extended to her on two previous occasions, and thinks it will continue for the rest of her life,” remarked the magistrate. "She has been stealing for several months, and has been making a habit of it. Accused was sentenced to 21 days’ imprisonmnent for theft of foodstuffs and to 14 days’ imprisonment for stealing crloves.
