From Our Own Correspondent. Rangitikei Golf Club. Radies of the above club played L.U.TJ; medal rounds on Thursday and the best performances were those of Airs Hendry (03, 15, 78), and Aliss C. Wilson (S 7,8, 70),' silver medal; Airs .1. S. Tricker (99, 25, 71), Aliss Palmer (JOii, 23, 77). Atiss D. Perrett (93, 21. 78). bronze; Miss 15. Pearce, C grade. Parewanui School Dance.

On Thursday, July 11, the Parewanui school committee will hold a monster euchre and dance in the Bulls town hall, and particulars relating to this popular fixture will be found in our advertising columns. There will be two orchestras playing old time and jazz music—Gedson’s and the Palmerston.’ North 'Mouth Organ Band (of three carloads). '. There, are to be special novelty dances and liberal prizes. Air .1. 11. Whisker, of "Fernwood," Bulls, whose death took place at his residence last week after an illness lasting many years, was a life-long- friend of Air James MclCelvie, and it was a somewhat, traein coincidence that their

deaths should occur within a few hours of one another. ~ . Born in Taita, Bower Hutt, Air »h>sker, who was in his 66th year, spent.the early years of his life near 1 ending, where he grew up to be a very line athlete and footballer in the FeiUling f-C. His first venture as a farmer on his own account was at Carnarvon, and lie successfully' worked this property m eon--junction with his stock buying and landvaluing activities, which made him '"'‘dely known in the distret. For just, on o. years he had b6en a member of the Alanawatu A. and P. Assopation, and ad d as ring steward for several years, ratling health compelled him to sell his Carnarvon property and Atr Whisker came to live near Bulls, where ho spent his remaining years. . . As a member of the local patriotic society he was associated with Air AlcKeivie in doing fine work for the good of the returned soldiers. He was a life member and vice president of the Rangitikei Racing Club, for which body lie did much good work despite the handicap of his bad health. He. is survived by Airs Whisker and three sons—Phillip, Lindsay and Geoffrey.
