Feilding Show Sheep
EXPORT CLASS AWARDS At last evening's meeting of the Feilding A. and P. Association it was announced that cabled information had been received from London regarding the results of the London Judging an the export classes on carcases. It is of interest to record that in one instance (class 200) the first award went to a Romney wether which tbo London judges selected as against the Southdown entries.
Class 206 at the show in February last was for three wethers or three maiden ewes which had been exhibited in another class. The competition was for longwools under 21 months. The sheep were killed locally and the carcases were shipped overseas for judging in'the competition arranged .by •Messrs 11. Fitter and Sons. The awards were: 33S H. B. Johnston, Cheltenham, Ij. 33-1 and 335 D. W. Reid, Saudon road, 2 and 3. Previously exhibited (live) in class 204, No. 338, the winning carcase, received no award, but in class 205 (judged after killing at the local works) No. 338 received first award. The winner takes a challenge cup and a £3 3s prize. The other class of which cabled advice lias been received was No. 222 (three fat lambs Down or longwool). The result was: 366 Short estate, I; 367 W. G. Booth, 2; 378 Short estate, 3. The winning carcase obtained second prize in another class (live judging), while No. 367 was third in the live judging. The winner receives a challenge cup and a. £3 3s cash prize.
