Laval consisted of a single clause authorising the Government to take by dccre until October 31, all measures nec*> sary to fight speculation and defend the franc. The Bill was adopted by 324 to 160. The Senate passed the Plenary Powers Bill by 223 to 15. PARIS, June 8. M. Laval, addressing the Senate, promised that before introducing special measures he would consult the President of the Senate and Chamber and their Finance Commissions during the forthcoming vacation, though he would not necessarily accept their adviJe. Parliament has adjourned until the 18th, when it meets for a few days and again adjourns until the autumn. Meanwhile the Cabinet aims at removing the deficit.
