Drastic Japanese Action in China
TENSE SITUATION IN TIENTSIN United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. TOKIO, June 7. A War Council of Japanese military conn:* in dors at Tientsin is preparing drastic military action in North China. It is understood that Japan will issue an ultimatum to the Chinese (iovernnieut, and the .situation in iicntsin is tense following the march of Japanese troops through the Chinese areas of the city. It is announced that Japan intends to “demilitarise” Tientsin and Peking where, it is alleged, the Chinese are directing the activities of bandits.
