FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND AT HOKOWHITU. CONDITIONS WEED DIFFICULT. Tlic competition at Hokowhitu on Saturday was the June Stroke Handicap, in conjunction with which were played the first qualifying rounds for the club championships and the Nathan and 35 Cups. The conditions were all against good scoring for heavy showers were experienced in the early part of the afternoon and although the weather improved as the afternoon progressed, the course was very heavy. An S.l off the stick and a. net score of 73 gave C. G. Moore first honours in the A grade stroke, while E. I'. Hooper’s net 71 headed the B grade list. The best cards were as under: — A Grade.
